High School Standouts Nominated for 2021 Triple "A" Award

East Ridge, Park and Woodbury High Schools announced the selection of the female and male nominees for the Minnesota State High School League’s (MSHSL) Triple “A” Award. The award recognizes high school seniors for academics, arts and athletics. Recipients must have a B or higher grade point average and participate in MSHSL sponsored athletics and fine arts activities.

Through a multi-level selection process, four award recipients - a female and a male from both Class A and Class AA schools - will be announced at a recognition ceremony in March. Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.

East Ridge High School (ERHS)

AllisonAllison Benjamin is a featured soloist in choir, a lead in three of the seven ERHS theater productions she participated in and a member of the speech team. For the last five years, she has been on the ERHS tennis team, earning All-Conference honorable mentions. Benjamin has received the top score on seven Advanced Placement (AP) tests, tutors peers through the National Honor Society (NSH) and is a research assistant for the University of Minnesota COVID-19 team. 


Peter Anderson is involved in the top symphonic band, lead drum set player in jazz band and pit orchestra and a leader in marching band and front ensemble band. For the last four years, he's been participating in ERHS sports as a member of the boys tennis team and as the captain of the nordic ski team. Along with extracurricular activities, Anderson has excelled academically earning a 4.13 GPA.

Peter will be attending Loyola University in Chicago, IL where he will study music performance.

Park High School (PHS)

CorinnaCorinna Loshek is an accomplished athlete as the captain of the PHS girls tennis team and earned All-State honors as a softball player. Loshek is active in choir, competing in multiple large group contests. She has taken numerous Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses and excelled academically.

Corinna plans to attend Winona State University where she will study elementary education.


Brian McQuillan is active in many Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) activities at PHS. He competes in both the one-act play and speech. He has also participated in track and is the captain of the football team. McQuillian is a full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma candidate and a member of Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). 

Brian is still selecting which school he will attend but plans to major in business. 

Woodbury High School (WHS)

AbbyAbby Doyle is an accomplished athlete and performer. For the last four years, she has been a member of the varsity girls swim and dive team earning an All-Conference honorable mention and serving as the team captain during her senior year. Doyle is also a skilled viola player, performing in the WHS orchestra and chamber orchestra, earning a superior rating as a junior. She has received a letter of commendation for her performance on the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test and excelled academically.

Abby plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Morris to study forensic science. 

Liam Earley is a featured performer in WHS choir, earning aWill superior rating for his performances as a sophomore and a junior. He is also the captain of the boys swim and dive team where he has been on the varsity team since his freshman year. Earley has excelled academically while taking rigorous courses throughout high school. Outside of school activities and sports, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2020. 

Liam plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York where he will study engineering and participate in diving and choir.
