Apply for Child Care for the 2020-21 School Year

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo) will offer child care during the 2020-21 school year to families who qualify as a Tier 1 essential worker. Community Education will also offer fee-based Kids Club child care before school, after school and on designated non-school days. 

Requirements for no cost child care during typical school hours:

  •  You must have a student enrolled in South Washington County Schools
  • You must qualify as a Tier 1 essential worker (as defined below)
  • You must provide proof of your eligibility with employer information
  • Your child must be in kindergarten and age 12 or younger

Please complete the Child Care Application Form. Once your application is approved, you will receive follow-up communication to complete your registration.

Priority will be given to families who have at least one parent or guardian who qualifies as a Tier 1 Essential Worker.

  • Healthcare and public health
  • Law enforcement, public safety and first responders
  • Food and agriculture
  • Judicial Branch (essential services)
  • National Guard (activated under a Governor Executive Order)
  • Educators and school staff providing in-person instruction or caring for children of critical workers
  • Child care and school-age care providers

Priority Deadline: Apply by 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18 to be included in the initial placement process.

Please note: Capacity will be based on availability of staff and facilities. If you do not qualify as an essential worker, you may still apply in the event that no cost or fee-based child care becomes available.
