October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! The Reading Center has put together a schedule of events in and around October to help spread awareness of dyslexia. Visit www.TheReadingCenter.org/Outreach-Events to register. 

Dyslexia Simulation

• When: Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
• Where: The Reading Center, 2010 Scott Rd. NW, Rochester
• What: Immersive, in-person experience that allows participants the opportunity to experience the struggles that students with dyslexia face each day in a school setting. This event is free and open to the public. 

Storytime with Dyslexic Author, Michael Hall

• When: Oct. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
• Where: Highland Park Public Library, St. Paul
• What: Decoding Dyslexia MN and The Reading Center invite you to join us for a special Storytime with acclaimed dyslexic author and illustrator Michael Hall! Elementary-aged students and their families will enjoy a reading, a short Q&A, and hear Michael share a bit about his dyslexia journey. This event is free and open to the public.

Reading Center Alumni Panel & History Display

• When: Oct. 22
  • 6 p.m. History Display & Social Hour
  • 7 p.m. Panel Discussion
• Where: History Center of Olmsted County, Rochester
• What: Celebrate The Reading Center's 75th Anniversary with an inspiring panel discussion at the History Center. Hear from five accomplished Reading Center alumni about how they navigated dyslexia and the role TRC played in helping them achieve success. This event is free and open to the public.
