Culturally Responsive Instruction

Culturally Responsive Instruction is a professional learning opportunity for educators within the district, designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills to better meet the educational needs of diverse students. Some professional development opportunities have included:

  • Observing implementation of the CLR classroom model and reflecting on experience

  • Book Study related to Culturally Responsive Instruction

  • Lesson Planning that incorporates CLR best practices techniques and strategies.

  • Professional development through attendance at workshop and/or seminar

  • Scholarly articles review


All of these professional learning opportunities assist educators in meeting the educational needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students. The Culturally Responsive Instructional Framework has been implemented in our district utilizing a cohort model over a three-year timeframe.
