Northern Elementary School Attendance Boundaries

The north elementary attendance boundary recommendation was approved in January of 2016. The boundary change will be implemented in the fall of 2017. The north elementary schools impacted by change are Bailey, Liberty Ridge, Middleton, Red Rock, Royal Oaks, Valley Crossing and Woodbury elementary schools.

As shared following the decision last year, the implementation process includes:

Students Previously Approved for Intra-District Transfers and Open Enrollment
Those students in one of our northern elementary schools that have been previously accepted into the building through the Open Enrollment process or Intra-District Transfer process will be allowed to continue in the school. Per district policy, transportation will not be provided for students on approved Intra-District Transfer Requests.

Continued Attendance through Intra-District Transfer Approval
Students currently in fourth grade will be allowed to remain at their existing elementary school for fifth-grade if they choose. Siblings would have the option to remain in the building with their fifth-grade sibling by completing an Intra-District Transfer Form and checking the box “Option to Remain.” An Option to Remain allows the siblings to attend for one year only, and would be automatically approved. The following year (2018-19) the sibling(s) will be assigned to their new attendance boundary school, at which time you would need to submit an Intra-District Transfer that would be approved based on parameters at the time of the request.

Valley Crossing
In addition to the inclusion of the Valley Crossing attendance boundary students in 2017-18, District 833 will continue to offer the multiage choice program to all District 833 students. Transportation is provided to all Valley Crossing students in the multiage choice program residing within District 833 boundaries unless students live within the one-mile walking distance.

Included in the planned boundaries moving forward is the continued grandfathering of rural neighborhoods W65, W66, W67, W68, A2 and A3 into Middleton Elementary until residential development occurs in any of those neighborhood groups.
