1.0 Call to Order; Roll Call
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the School Board of Independent School District 833, South Washington County, was held on Thursday, March 28, 2019. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Ron Kath, at 6:30pm at the District Service Center, located at 7362 East Point Douglas Road South, Cottage Grove, Minnesota. School Board Members present were: Heather Hirsch, Ron Kath, Katie Schwartz and Michelle Witte. Tracy Brunnette, Pat Driscoll and Sharon Van Leer were absent. Superintendent Keith Jacobus was present. Student Board Representatives Lindsey Strom (PHS), Maya Mehra (WHS) and Hannah Poor (ERHS) were present.

3.0 Approval of Agenda
It was moved by Michelle Witte to approve the amended agenda, adding 10.2 Approval of the revised 2019-20 Calendar. Seconded by Heather Hirsch. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried. 

4.0 District Highlights: Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year, Randy Spring Mike Moore, Liberty Ridge Elementary Principal

It was moved by Katie Schwartz to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Heather Hirsch. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried.

8.1 Young Scholars Overview and Update Trina Patterson, Educational Achievement & Integration Coordinator

Ms. Patterson & Colleen Redmond, Young Scholars Lead. They shared the current program and vision for the future. 

8.2 Financial Update Dan Pyan, Director of Finance

He shared the current status of the budget.

8.3 ATPPS Partnership with TLS Kelly Jansen, Director of Teaching and Learning Services

She shared the details of the programs and current and future plans.

8.4 Negotiations Update Heather Hirsch, School Board Member
She provided an update on the process.

10.0 Action Items:

10.1 Approval of Nutrition Services Agreement Kevin Witherspoon, Director of Human Resources
It was moved by Michelle Witte, seconded by Heather Hirsch to approve the agreement. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried. 

10.2 Approval of Proposed Revisions to 2019-20 Calendar
Keith Jacobus, Superintendent

Revised 2019-20 Calendar
It was moved by Katie Schwartz, seconded by Michelle Witte to approve the revised calendar for 2019-20. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried. 

11.0 Reports and Comments:

11.1 Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Jacobus reported on the snow days and provided an update on SPARK. 

11.2 Student Board Reports: 

Hannah Poor (ERHS) reported on recent sports, including the boys basketball team taking 4th place at state. And the Thunderbolts taking 2nd place at state. They’re holding a blood drive, prom is coming up and they held a Fairy Tale Fashions for Food fundraiser. She also reported on sophomores taking their MCA’s, the District Orchestra festival, Fine Art Showcase and the Speech Team is sending 10 speakers to state.

Lindsey Strom (PHS) reported on third trimester, their April 5th blood drive, April 2nd art show and the Robotics competition at Mariucci happening this weekend. She also highlighted Spring sports.

Maya Mehra (WHS) reported on spring sports. She noted their Choir is on tour in San Francisco and the Speech Team is sending 5 people to the National Tournament and tied ERHS at state> They recently hosted a free self-defense class for 40 students and are hosting their first Ted Talk. Prom is on April 13th
