Her extensive professional experience, as well as her connection to South Washington County Schools, allows her to jump into the work and help the District fulfill its goals of personalizing learning and creating a positive climate and culture for all.”

In Jansen’s previous role in Winona Public Schools, she was dedicated to equity and cultural competence work to address the opportunity and achievement gap. She is credited with leading the planning and implementation of the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program at the middle and high school, as well as building a Curriculum Advisory Committee/World’s Best Workforce Committee.

Jansen brings with her perspective from multiple roles within a school district. She began her career at Winona Area Public Schools in 1997 as a Physical Education and Health Instructor. Over the past 20 years at that district, she also served as an Interim Superintendent, Director of Teaching and Learning, High School Principal, Associate Principal and Dean of Students.

She says she is eager to return to her roots and looks forward to developing, designing and aligning the District’s curriculum for the success of all learners.

"District 833 has played a huge role in my life and I am excited to join South Washington County Schools as the next Director of Teaching and Learning.
