South Washington County Schools is pleased to announce that Trina Patterson has accepted the position of Educational Achievement and Integration Coordinator. Patterson transitioned from her role as a Community Cultural Liaison with the District starting on September 20, 2018 and will go before the board for approval at the next School Board meeting on October 4, 2018.

Patterson is a parent in the district and has worked as a Community Cultural Liaison with District 833 since January 2016. In her role she has supported District efforts to close the achievement gap, promoted culturally relevant and inclusive environments for all students, and implemented programs that engage, educate and empower families and students.

“Trina embodies South Washington County Schools’ core values of collaboration, continuous improvement, equity, integrity and relationships,” said Superintendent Keith Jacobus. “She has played an important role in the Office of Equity and Integration over the past several years and is ready to take on an expanded role in our District to continue our work of promoting a positive climate and culture, and personalization.”

Trina has worked with educational institutions across the country on both the secondary and postsecondary levels in various capacities. She holds a Master of Science in Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University.

Trina replaces Kristine Schaefer, who was selected to serve as an Assistant Superintendent of District 833 in August.
