Fisher received a $1,000 prize and $1,500 of classroom art supplies for Frisco. Lien earned $100 in art supplies for herself and $300 of classroom art supplies.

"I am fortunate to have the opportunity to mentor my students," said Jessica Frisco, East Ridge High School Art Instructor. "They dedicate a great deal of their passion and energy to their artwork and deserve the recognition. They are very talented."

The art show, coordinated by Art Educators of Minnesota in conjunction with the Council for Art Education (CFAE), is open to the public through March 17 at the capitol when there will be a closing reception from 12 to 2 p.m. The show celebrates visual arts for grades K - 12. The Youth Art Month Program emphasizes the value of art education, encourages support for quality school art programs and promotes art material safety.
