Return to Work and Quarantine Procedures
Elementary Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) teachers will continue to work remotely if they choose to do so.
Instructions for Employees:
I had a community exposure to COVID-19 and was directed to quarantine by the district...
- I received a positive COVID-19 test result.
- My household member received a positive COVID-19 test result.
- I have been in close contact with someone who received a positive COVID-19 test result.
- I am experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and waiting for a test result.
- Complete the COVID-19 Self Reporting Form
- Remote work may not be available. Contact your supervisor to determine if remote work is available.
- To be paid during the quarantine period, enter one of the following paid absence leave (PAL) reasons in Employee Access/ERMA:
- Personal Illness
- Family Illness
- Personal Business
- Vacation time can be used if available
- Potential Eligibility for Sick Bank (teachers)
- If substitute is needed, enter absence in AESOP
- If you do not have PAL time available, enter Unpaid Time Off/Dock Pay
- Leave of Absence paperwork will need to be submitted if the absence is over 10 days

- You will continue to be paid through your quarantine period. Payroll will enter a COVID code in Employee Access for the quarantine period dates.

I have traveled either domestically or internationally….
- Follow CDC guidelines for domestic and international travel
- Mandatory quarantines upon returning from travel will not be required
- Remote work will not be available for travel-related quarantines and you must use PAL
Returning to In-Person Learning
- A staff member who is unable to report to work because of a documented medical condition that puts them at-risk for complications as a result of COVID-19, or has members of their household who are at-risk, should contact the Human Resources representative to discuss leave options.
- Staff members who choose not to return to work and do not have a documented health risk must contact Human Resources to request or extend an unpaid leave of absence.
