Graduations

The Minnesota Department of Education issued guidance that in-person ceremonies are not permitted due to the risk of spreading COVID-19.

The sense of loss for our seniors during this time is understandable. The ability for a student to end their high school career by walking the stage for their diploma is an important life-changing event for our kids. Our goal is to hold a virtual graduation ceremony that is as memorable as possible with speeches from students and staff, highlighting every senior by announcing their name and showing their photo and even prerecorded music performances.

South Washington County Schools and our four high schools are busy planning for virtual graduation ceremonies. The ceremonies will be:

  • Livestreamed for families to view and share online
  • Scheduled for the days and times listed below (Please note these dates are not the same as the previously scheduled graduation dates)
  • The latest information and all ceremonies will be archived here, at sowashco.org/graduations
Families will receive additional information from their child’s high school in late May regarding pick-up of caps and gowns, opportunities to drive through campus for an official graduation photo on school grounds and other logistics.
