Fall 2020 Planning Survey

Fall 2020 Planning Survey
Posted on 06/29/2020

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo) continues to plan for three scenarios that are being considered for schools this fall. The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) is scheduled to announce the plan that all schools will follow by the week of July 27.

On June 18, Governor Tim Walz released planning guidance which asked Minnesota school districts to plan for three scenarios. Our planning teams are working on creating plans for each:

  • SCENARIO 1 In-Person Learning: All students will learn at school with social distancing in place as much as possible.
  • SCENARIO 2 Hybrid Learning: Students will learn through a combination of distance learning at home and in-person learning at school with strict social distancing measures in place. School buildings will be limited to 50 percent capacity of students and staff at any given time.

  • SCENARIO 3 Distance Learning only: Students will learn at home through distance learning with instruction that is consistent with learning prior to COVID-19.

To help with the planning process, we are requesting staff and families to participate in an anonymous survey through July 7. Your feedback will be used to help inform the work of the planning teams for a successful start to the school year. There are several questions for each scenario listed above.

Please complete the survey through July 7. Thank you for supporting South Washington County Schools.
