Strategic Plan
In February 2022, South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) began work on creating our new Strategic Plan. A group of SoWashCo Schools staff members from a variety of schools and departments met about once a month to brainstorm, share ideas, create a plan and give feedback on how to move our district forward to help students succeed and to determine our core values in an ever-changing world. Throughout the process, students and families also provided input to guide the plan.
On May 18, 2023, the School Board approved the strategic planning roadmap, which includes the district's mission and vision statements, core values and strategic direction.
SoWashCo Schools continues to develop components of the new strategic plan, including the operational and implementation plans and vision cards that are used for reporting measures and metrics for the successful implementation of the district’s mission and vision.

2026 Morris Leatherman Community Survey Results
The Community Survey is administered every three years by the Morris Leatherman Group to gather data and perceptions used to support the Strategic Plan. The survey of the results also provides the SoWashco Schools administration with information to use in planning for the future.
The most recent community survey was conducted in January 2026. Peter Leatherman, CEO of the Morris Leatherman Group, presented to the School Board a summary of the survey results and an overview of how district perceptions have evolved over three years, including a comparison with state and national trends.
