Agenda and Minutes
The purpose of this meeting is to consider the following:
1.0 Call to Order: Roll Call: Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the School Board of Independent School District 833, South Washington County, was held on Thursday, November 3, 2022. The meeting was called to order by Chair Sharon Van Leer, at 5:58pm at the District Service Center, 7362 East Point Douglas Road South, Cottage Grove, MN 55016. School Board Members present: Melinda Dols, Pat Driscoll, Louise Hinz, Eric Tessmer and Sharon Van Leer. Simi Patnaik and Katie Schwartz are absent. Superintendent Julie Nielsen was present.
2.0 Pledge of Allegiance
3.0 Approval of Agenda: It was moved by Eric Tessmer to approve the agenda, seconded by Louise Hinz. All in favor, none opposed, motion carried.
4.0 Workshop Items

Christine Wroblewski from TeamWorks provided an update and summary on the work so far and next steps.

Superintendent Nielsen shared updates on possible options to be able to provide transportation to eligible students. We currently have 250 students that do not have transportation.
4.3 World’s Best Workforce & Achievement & Integration Summary

Joyce Beaird Early Childhood Family Education Manager, Tia Clasen, Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning, Mao Jacobson, Director of Program Evaluation, Research and Assessment, James Magee Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Arthur Williams Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning presented the data.
5.0 Information Items:
5.1 First Reading of Proposed Policy Changes

There was no public comment. These will return for approval at the November 17th meeting.
6.0 Reports and Comments: Superintendent Nielsen shared information on the Community, Staff, Student and Elected Official Listening Sessions, Masterworks Concert, and the upcoming all District Advisory meeting. Melinda Dols reported on attending the 916 board meeting. Pat Driscoll will be attending the AMSD meeting tomorrow. Louise Hinz attended District Ambassadors and CFAC. Sharon Van Leer is a part of SoWashCo CARES and noted the start of the ERHS and WHS plays.
7.0 Future Meeting Dates:

December 15, 2022 - School Board Business Meeting (DSC/6:00 p.m.)
