Woodbury Middle School Named a 2025 State School of Character
Woodbury Middle School (WMS) has been recognized as the only State School of Character in Minnesota for 2025.
Criteria for being chosen as a School of Character are based on creating a caring school community where everyone feels they belong, providing students with opportunities to practice and reflect on their character strengths and engaging families and communities as partners in the school’s character initiative.
WMS was highlighted for their comprehensive approach to fostering a safe, kind and supportive school environment through their Advisory Groups, AVID program and the leadership opportunities for both staff and students.
"WMS has set a remarkable example of what it means to be a school of character,” said Assistant Superintendent Kelly Jansen. “They’ve created a thriving community where students are not only supported academically but also encouraged to grow as compassionate, responsible individuals.”
“The positive culture at WMS has a strong foundation that has been built over time,” said Assistant Principal Josh Eidem. “We truly believe that both present and past students, staff, families, and community members should know they had a part in this recognition."
