Woodbury High School Choral Exchange

Woodbury High School Choral Exchange

Woodbury High School (WHS) choir students got an opportunity to sing at the collegiate level at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) for the first-ever choral exchange.

Cera Babb, the UWRF director of choral activities, said she coordinated the exchange when Woodbury students returned from a short performance tour in Chicago.

“Exchanges are a great way to connect with high schools, use our beautiful performing space and showcase our choir as a positive, musical and inviting group they can join if they decide to come to UWRF. It gives high school students the opportunity to literally see themselves on stage on a college campus,” said Cera.

“This was the first time we performed in a concert hall. It was great to hear our songs in such a beautifully sounding space," said Tony Streng, WHS’s choir teacher.

"It was fun singing with an older group, we felt more as though we were professional and it was cool to show them what we could do. I always think it’s exciting to sing with a more experienced choir as there’s always something to learn from them,” said Aisy McCormick, a WHS student.

SoWashCo Schools is proud of our talented students’ musicianship and thanks to UWRF for this great opportunity.
