Upcoming Changes to Bus Routes

Upcoming Changes to Bus Routes

Due to bus driver staffing, South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) is making changes to transportation routes beginning Tuesday, Sept. 29.

These immediate adjustments are being made to avoid/minimize route cancellations for next week (Sept. 30-Oct. 2).

These transportation changes will not impact students who receive specialized transportation through their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

The transportation adjustments will impact pick-up and drop-off times, location stops and the bus names that students will be boarding. While we work to minimize cancellations, students may be riding the bus longer.

These changes will take effect on Tuesday, Sept. 29. (Reminder: There is no school on Monday, Sept. 28)

We are asking families to check Campus Parent Portal for updated transportation information beginning on Sunday, Sept. 27. A message with detailed information about the transportation adjustments will be shared with families on Monday morning.

With this unfortunate situation, we are asking families to please create a plan to provide your own transportation to get your child to or from school in the event you are notified of a morning or afternoon route cancellation. A route cancellation occurs when no drivers are available.

We understand the difficulty in adjusting work schedules to accommodate the district’s bus driver shortages. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to minimize any disruptions to students having access to get to school.

Please look for additional details about the transportation adjustments for next week on Monday, Sept. 28.
