Fourth-grade students at Liberty Ridge Elementary participated in an enrichment day titled “Strikers’ University.” Many of our elementary schools host enrichment days that provide a full day of enrichment activities. Students come together in small groups based on a common interest to learn and create an end product.

Parent volunteers shared their special skills with students by hosting a one-day crash course. Students had the opportunity to choose from 30+ topics, including cake decorating, business, pilates, sewing, toy repair, gardening, flower arrangement, woodworking, knitting, cooking egg rolls and more.

“We made our own wooden pens,” said Parson Smidt. “I liked sanding the wood on the lathe.”

"I’ve never worked with resin before,” said Angie Albert. “We got to choose our resin mold and the colors we want to make our resin keychains.”

“We planted seeds, learned about gardening and made a flower arrangement,” said Kiaan Ghosh.
