Magnet Programs and Priority Enrollment

SoWashCo Schools offers two magnet programs, the Spanish immersion magnet program hosted at Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion School and our multiage magnet program hosted at Valley Crossing Elementary School. Priority enrollment is now underway through Friday, Feb. 11. During this time, we encourage you to first enroll your kindergarten child into their boundary school then complete the online application to have your child entered into the lottery for one of our two magnet programs. Families who participate in the lottery will be notified if their child is accepted or placed on the waiting list for a magnet program in March.

Recordings from the magnet program virtual information sessions will be available online on our magnet program page

SoWashCo Online

SoWashCo Online offers students in grades K-5 and 9-12 the opportunity to learn in a flexible environment that best meets their needs. Students are supported by experienced SoWashCo teachers with the same challenging academic standards as our traditional schools.

Students in grades K-5 will take an active role in their own learning, embrace their natural curiosity and apply knowledge to real-world situations while being enrolled full-time in SoWashCo Online. Students will take advantage of continuous opportunities to connect with and learn from students in their online class.

Students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to enroll in SoWashCo Online part time or full time. More than 50 online courses are taught by our own SoWashCo Schools teachers, including many online Advanced Placement (AP) classes for college credit. SoWashCo Schools students will still have the option to participate in their boundary/attendance area school’s athletics and activities while enrolled in SoWashCo Online part time or full time.

Families interested in SoWashCo Online are encouraged to first complete enrollment for their boundary school, and then complete the SoWashCo Online pre-registration form and follow the instructions provided. Please note that SoWashCo Online is not yet offered to grades 6-8.

If your student is already enrolled in their boundary school, please complete the online intra-district transfer form and select “SoWashCo Online K-5” or “SoWashCo Online 9-12” for full time enrollment. Students in grades 9-12 already enrolled in their boundary school and interested in taking classes part time through SoWashCo Online should make an appointment with their school counselor. Students can also view available online courses in our high school course guide
