Negotiations Update 2023-24 - UTSWC Session Two

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) and the United Teachers of South Washington County (UTSWC) met for their second public negotiation session on May 2.

Each group shared proposals that focused on several language updates such as clarifications, dates, and better ways to define wording in the contract.

Following the presentations, each group caucused by meeting in separate rooms to discuss the proposals.

The negotiations teams successfully came to several tentative agreements including:

• Removing gender references from the contract

• Removing outdated language throughout the contract

• Language clarification for emergency closing options

• New contract language for late starts

The next negotiation session between SoWashCo Schools and UTSWC is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23.
