This year marks the first time that Park and Woodbury high schools have hosted a Girls Flag Football team. This year, the Minnesota Vikings offered grants to 51 high schools across the state as part of their pilot program aimed at introducing the new girls' sport.

“I love learning new plays and our team’s celebrations when we score touchdowns,” said Park senior Kyra Stofer.

“We were excited to get the chance to build a team and play in our inaugural Girls Flag Football season this spring,” said Woodbury lead coach Andy Hill. “ We learned every day, had fun, won some and lost some, but most importantly built momentum for the program in future years.”

Both schools’ Girls Flag Football teams will be heading to the playoffs next month. Congratulations to both of these ground-breaking teams!
