Building for Our Future: SoWashCo Schools to Hold Information Sessions Next Week

Building for Our Future: SoWashCo Schools to Hold Information Sessions Next Week

Over the next 10 years, more than 3,500 potential new K-12 students are expected to move into the district. If we do nothing, current projections show that 15 schools will be over capacity and we will have a deficit of nearly 2,500 K-12 seats for students by 2031.

The growth in our communities requires multiple approaches to address the space needs in our schools. The 10-year facility package includes new construction, renovations, repurposing the use of buildings, moving programs and changes to some attendance boundaries. SoWashCo Schools will request board approval of the $462 million plan during the regular business meeting on Thursday, April 21.

Learn more about the 10-year facility package to address community growth and student needs by attending a community information session.
