Bailey Elementary and Woodbury Elementary Kids Club Programs Achieve I-SAC Accreditation
Woodbury Elementary School (WES) and Bailey Elementary School (BES) Kids Club programs have achieved Ignite’s School Age Care (I-SAC) Accreditation from Ignite Afterschool. This premier certification recognizes high-quality school-aged care in Minnesota.
“We are extremely proud of our Bailey and Woodbury Kids Club staff and the Kids Club leadership team,” said Amy Brengman, Out-of-School Time Program Manager.
Research shows high-quality programming positively impacts children's school attendance, behavior and academics, while also strengthening skills in communication, teamwork, resiliency and self-esteem.
I-SAC accredited programs must demonstrate excellence in six areas:
- Intentional program design
- Supportive relationships and environment
- Youth voice and leadership
- Responsiveness to culture and identity
- Community and family engagement
- Organizational management, staff support and youth safety
I-SAC accreditation is valid for four years. During this time programs must demonstrate they are actively engaged in Continuous Program Improvements (CPI), a process that helps programs to continually improve and attain better positive long-term outcomes for children.
“Bailey and Woodbury Kids Club have gone through nine months of work to achieve accreditation, and we applaud their commitment to high-quality, safe and effective programming that makes a positive impact on Minnesota’s young people,” said David Hanson, Ignite Afterschool Program Specialist.
Additional sites will begin the I-SAC accreditation process during the 2024-25 school year. South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) is committed to providing high-quality school-age child care. All SoWashCo Schools Kids Club sites are certified by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and participate in a continuous program improvement process focused on the same quality goals.
