AVID National Demonstration Schools
Park High School, Cottage Grove and Oltman middle schools recently have been validated as AVID National Demonstration Schools.
AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities.
Park High School (PHS) celebrates its revalidation as an AVID National Demonstration School. PHS was recognized for its prioritization of fostering strong student relationships, empowering student agency, cultivating opportunity knowledge, promoting equity, and providing rigorous academic preparation.
Cottage Grove Middle School (CGMS) has achieved a significant milestone by validating as an AVID National Demonstration School, following more than two years of dedicated preparation. CGMS's strong emphasis on equipping students with essential academic and life skills and its unwavering dedication to student success.
Oltman Middle School (OMS) also celebrates its revalidation as an AVID National Demonstration School. OMS is recognized for its mission to activate the potential in each child. This mission is deeply rooted in the principles of social-emotional learning and relational capacity, recognizing that academic success is intertwined with emotional well-being and positive relationships.
