Athena Award Winners

The Athena Awards program honors the exceptional athletic achievements of 55 female high school seniors from the metro area. The award is based on excellence in individual sports or for participation and accomplishments in team sports. 

Congratulations to: 

• Mallory Paine at East Ridge High School

  • Mallory is a top swimmer for the Raptors. She has earned 3x All-Conference, 4x State Qualifier, 2x All-State, All-American and holds 5 school records. Mallory is a member of NHS, Vice President of our Student Ambassadors, Co-President of our PRISM club, All-Conference Violin player, editor of our school newspaper and a member of our Student Cabinet. She will be attending the University of San Diego to continue your swimming journey and majoring in Environmental Studies.

• Ava Reckinger at Park High School

  • Ava is a three-sport athlete for the Wolfpack. She was a four-time varsity letter winner in soccer and earned All-Conference and All-Section honors. She was a team captain and voted the team’s MVP. In Nordic skiing Ms. Reckinger earned three varsity letters and received the Coaches’ Commendation Award. Ava will attend the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and will major in elementary education and play lacrosse.

• Gabrielle Mauder at Woodbury High School

  • Gabby is a nationally ranked diver that has won two Minnesota State High School League AA State Diving Champions. She has won the section 4AA title 5 times. She holds the WHS all-time records in the 6 and 11 dives and earned National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association All America Diving the past 4 years. Gabby will attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities as a member of the Women’s Swim and Dive Team.
