2024 Seal of Biliteracy
The Minnesota Seal of Biliteracy is an award given upon high school graduation to students who complete all four years of English Language Arts and demonstrate proficiency in an eligible language other than English.
The award honors bilingual and bicultural students. Students who earn the Seal of Biliteracy are also eligible for world language college credits at accepting colleges and universities.
This spring, students earned the Seal of Biliteracy in American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Czech, French, Japanese, Korean, Hmong, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Among the awardees, 26% earned an award in their primary home language.
