Welcome, parents! Beginning kindergarten is a milestone for you and your child. At South Washington County Schools, we hope to make this transition a smooth one for you and your child.
District 833 offers all-day, every day kindergarten at all elementary schools, and also offers a half-day option in the morning for those families who prefer to send their student for just a half-day.
Children who are five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2017 are eligible to start kindergarten in September 2017. Enrollment forms will be mailed to parents in mid-January.
To enroll students in kindergarten, parents should bring the completed forms, immunization record and a photocopy of your child’s birth certificate to Kindergarten Enrollment Night (held at your child’s school) on Feb. 21, 2017. You can also enroll students with the Student Information Department at the District Service Center (7362 E. Point Douglas Rd. S., Cottage Grove).
Families interested in a special information night about multiage programming can visit Valley Crossing Elementary School on Monday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. While this event intended for those who are considering kindergarten at Valley Crossing, all ages are welcome to attend.
