Enrolling Your Student

Families who have not registered their students for the 2019-20 school year are asked to visit the Student Information Office at the District Service Center (7362 East Point Douglas Road S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016)  as soon as possible. Regular office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 20, 22, 27, 29, and Sept. 3, 2019. To determine what school a student would be assigned to based on their address, visit the school boundary calculator. Please take a moment to view our Welcome Flyer.

Elementary enrollment that occurs during the summer months is subject to students having to be re-routed based on capacity with the grade-level enrolling. Should a grade level reach the district threshold, families will be offered a nearby attendance boundary school. The district will provide transportation to that school. Should an opening occur at the neighborhood school, students who were re-routed would be the first to have the opportunity to return to their neighborhood school. Enrollment is reviewed throughout the summer to determine schools that are above capacity and those that still have space.

Children who are five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019 are eligible to start kindergarten in September 2019. Enrollment forms will be mailed to parents in mid-January. Kindergarten Packets are sent out mid-January and are due back by mid-February. Learn more about Kindergarten Enrollment here. Early Childhood Screening does not enroll your child for kindergarten.
