Program Overview:

  • Students in district:  18,000 + students
  • About 1.75 million meals were served last school year
  • Nutrition Services employs over 140 employees

Nutrition and Menu Planning:

  • All menus meet or exceed USDA standards
  • The breakfast menu consists of whole grains, lean protein, fruit and milk daily.
  • The lunch menu consists of whole grains, lean protein, fruit, vegetables and milk daily.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables:

  • All schools have salad bars and provide a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. 
  • The Farm to School program provides seasonal local produce.

Scratch Cooking

  • The district has 2 central kitchens which produce homemade soups, homemade marinara sauce, muffins, granola, taco meat and sloppy joe meat for 15 elementary schools.
