School Communicators Committee

Purpose:

The School Communicators Committee will provide a means for two-way communication between the School Board and building/parent representatives. The committee is an advisory committee to the School Board.

Composition of the Committee:

Representatives from each of the buildings, the School Board, Early Childhood Family Education, Senior Citizens, Community Education, Superintendent or designee and District Communications.

Meeting attendance is important and members should notify the School Communicators facilitator – Shelly Schafer – if unable to attend.

Committee Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a means of two-way communication between the School Board, buildings and programs.
  • Assist the School Board in developing and implementing methods to improve building and community input into major School Board/district decisions.
  • Provide recommendations for communications, community input and involvement in the educational process of District 833.
  • New to the committee will be some development/review of work being considered in the Effective Partnership Strategic Objective Area. 

2016-17 Meetings for School Communicators:

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month during the school year. Meetings are held at the District Service Center from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

  • Jan. 4
  • Feb. 1
  • March 1 (typically a visit to the State Capitol and our local legislators)
  • April 5
  • May 3
  • June 7
