First-grade teacher Melissa Rahn was awarded KS95’s Teacher of the Week award on November 30 at Pine Hill Elementary School. Rahn was presented with the award by radio personality Rudy Pavich.

Rahn was nominated for the award, which is given out weekly by the Twin Cities radio station. She was recognized over the air on the morning of Friday, Nov. 17.

“When you walk into her classroom you can tell how much of a difference Ms. Rahn makes in her students’ lives,” said Pine Hill Principal Jolaine Mast. “We are proud to have excellent, dedicated teachers like Ms. Rahn on our team.”

Rahn was also invited to attend an annual banquet for this school year’s Teachers of the Week at Radisson Blu Mall of America on Thursday, May 24. At the event, she will be entered to win $1,000 for herself and $1,000 for Pine Hill.

She will be joined by another South Washington County School teacher, Brad Brown, who won the Teacher of the Week Award in October. Brown is a second-grade teacher at Crestview Elementary.

Congratulations to both Melissa Rahn and Brad Brown!
