Mid-winter meltdown adds tons of fun to school lunch!

On Friday, January 22nd Nutrition Services held a Hawaiian luau that included teriyaki chicken, sweet and sour chicken, tropical rice and a citrus selection fruit bar. Students could select clementines, cara cara oranges, kumquats and fresh pineapple with lemon ice as a special treat. Students especially enjoyed the kumquats. Kumquats are eaten whole, skin and all. The inside is quite sour, but the skin has a sweeter flavor. Decorated cafeterias and staff dressed in fun bright colors adorned the kitchen.

Next up for theme days is Hockey Day Minnesota on February 5th.
