Benjamin Anco, a third grade student at Woodbury Elementary School, was named the 2014 Minnesota State Goodwill Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Cottage Grove Middle School participated in the "Hour of Code” campaign, which introduced more than 10 million students of all ages to computer programming during Computer Science Education Week.

East Ridge High School senior Lucy Yang is currently part of Minnesota All-State math team and was recently selected to participate in the Harvard-MIT math tournament.

  • East Ridge High School: The community is invited to join East Ridge on Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Loft Stage for the school’s annual Holiday Concert.

The Kids Club programs at Hillside and Pine Hill elementary schools competed against each other to see who could raise the most boxes of cereal to donate to the Friends in Need Food Shelf.

Red Rock Elementary School had a successful event on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Barnes and Noble in Woodbury to benefit the school’s Media Center.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named seventeen 2014 Commended Students in the South Washington County Schools.

The district’s high schools are hosting informational sessions in January for current eighth graders and their parents to learn about the course opportunities they will have next year as ninth graders.
