There will be no school for District 833 students on Monday, Feb. 17 due to the President’s Day holiday.

The School Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, with the following items on the agenda:

District 833's fifth annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Career Day for all high school students in the district is scheduled for March 20 at the University of Minnesota.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth about $35 million that will be announced this spring.

On Saturday, March 1, Woodbury High School will host the annual Saturday Conversations with Minnesota Colleges from 9-11 a.m.

Each school in South Washington County Schools operates an “Angel Fund” that allows students to purchase a complete school lunch when their account balance runs out.

Fourth graders from Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion presented at the Minnesota Zoo's World Language Day on Feb. 11.

Washington County Attorney Pete Orput presented Woodbury Middle School student Jaime Simon the winner of the “Pledge to Graduate” drawing on Feb. 13.

Woodbury High School students Cole Davis, Carolyn Domroese and Michelle Mao participated in the Minnesota Brain Bee this year.

Katherine Lundquist has been named a Distinguished Finalist in the 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism.
