Included on the March 6 District 833 School Board agenda is a continuing conversation about changes being proposed to support the increasing budget issues within the transportation department.

The challenging winter has caused District 833, along with schools across the state, to be closed for as many as six days.

The Silent Night Deaf Event is an annual event held by District 833's American Sign Language (ASL) program.

Through an organization called Students Today, Leaders Forever, over 60 East Ridge High School students participated in a community service trip Feb. 13-17.

East Ridge and Park High School Thespians participated in the Minnesota State Thespian Conference at Chanhassen High School and the Guthrie Theater Feb. 16-17.

With 22 teams in attendance and over 400 competitors, Park High School Speech team won first place in the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 22 for the second consecutive year.

The district’s Academic Achievement Gap Leadership Team has been convened to assist in addressing recent legislation regarding academic disparities, linked to the Achievement and Integration Legislation.

Jerry Kill, the head football coach from the University of Minnesota, visited East Ridge High School on Feb. 24.

Cottage Grove Elementary School students learned about other countries and cultures by celebrating the 2014 Winter Olympics.
