The South Washington County Schools Community Education Department coordinates several youth development programs.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum recently visited Woodbury Middle School to speak to sixth grade social studies classes.

Fifty boys in kindergarten through grade four were paired up one-on-one with a high school male student from the district’s Community Youth Council and Key Clubs at a Boys Night Out event.

Lake Middle School's wellness committee, Change4Life, received a grant last year that includes bringing in a guest speaker to address student wellness.

The School Board met on Thursday, Nov. 21, with the following items on the agenda:

The narrow margin between the fourth and fifth highest vote getters for four-year School Board terms has triggered a recount.

District 833’s orchestra program has received the Meritorious Orchestra Program Award from the Minnesota String and Orchestra Teachers Association (MNSOTA).

Park High School Theater will present It's a Wonderful Life Dec. 12, 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.

There will be no school for District 833 students for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. All district schools and buildings will be closed.
