East Ridge High School senior Eaman Shire has been named a semifinalist in the 2014 National Achievement Scholarship Program.

Megan Zachman, a second grade teacher at Middleton Elementary School, has been nominated to attend the 2013 Education Nation Summit in New York City on Oct. 6-8.

In an effort to make school parking lots and streets along school routes permanently safer for walking and bicycling, seven schools in District 833 are participating in a $60,000 Safe Routes to School grant over two years.

A School Board Candidate Forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters, has been scheduled for Oct. 22 at the St. Paul Park Council Chambers.

The district welcomes the support of mental health professionals and local churches as they host a conversation for anyone interested in participating in the conversation, seeking support, or simply want to understand how to support one another through tragedies.

At a meeting of the newly formed Metro East Conference on Sept. 18, Park High School received confirmation that they would remain in the Suburban East Conference.

Nine students from the Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion club de fotografía (photography club) won awards for their photos at the Minnesota State Fair.
