Woodbury Middle School students attend Public Policy Showcase at MN State Capitol

On May 10, sixth graders from Woodbury Middle School visited the Minnesota State Capitol, where students presented various public policies to government officials as part of a unique showcase opportunity.

Following the presentations, students conducted discussions about the process they used to research, write and create their bills. They then received evaluations from the government representatives about the creation of their personalized public policies.

One group of sixth graders chose to create a piece of public policy about banning plastic bags. Their bill won Best Discussed and Written Public Policy for a middle school group in the state of Minnesota.
