Two teachers from South Washington County Schools were recently selected as KS95’s Teacher of the Week. Middleton Elementary School third-grade teacher Sara Koehnen earned the title in November and Newport Elementary School special education teacher Sara Arthur-Noble earned the title in October. Both were nominated by students and parents and chosen by the local radio station for the recognition.

Koehnen has been a teacher at District 833 for 17 years.

“Mrs. Koehnen is a very dedicated teacher that gives 100% to her students each and every day,” said Middleton Elementary School Principal Arthur Williams. “She also impacts the entire Middleton community by co-facilitating the Middleton Student Council.”

Photo of Sara Arthur-Noble Arthur-Noble is in her fifth year of teaching at Newport Elementary School.

“She is an experienced Special Education Resource teacher who deeply cares for her students and all Newport students,” said Newport Elementary School Principal Rich Romano. “Sara is a self-less educator who looks for solutions to everyday problems by putting the needs of the children first.”

Both were invited to attend an annual banquet for the school year’s Teachers of the Week on Thursday, May 22. At the event, both will be entered to win $1,000 for themselves and $1,000 for their school.

Congratulations to Sara Koehnen and Sara Arthur-Noble!
