School Board approves new middle school attendance boundaries

The School Board approved new middle school attendance boundaries at its September 7 meeting. After months of considering the impact of changes on the district and weighing input from the community, the board decided to approve Plan C. Boundary changes will begin in the Fall of 2018. See a map of the new district boundaries here.

The board considered a wealth of information gathered by the Steering Committee, the Middle School Attendance Boundary Task Force and the community before making their decisions. Among board members’ top priorities for consideration was the rebalancing of enrollment across all four district middle schools, providing a safe and efficient transportation system and creating boundaries that will allow for future growth.

Details on the implementation of the boundary changes will be discussed and announced over the upcoming months.

More information on the decision-making process is available on the district website under Hot Topics – Middle School Attendance Boundaries.
