Six District 833 schools participated in the International Walk to School Day on Oct. 9 as part of the district’sSafe Routes to School initiative that promotes walking, biking, carpooling and riding the bus.

NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, named Woodbury as the fourth best city in Minnesota to raise a family in.

On Sept. 26, East Ridge High School football team members traveled to Menomonie, WI assist with a playground build.

As part of a nationwide effort that will award $4.5 million to 90,000 teachers, Sam’s Club gave $50 gift cards to 20 educators last week at Woodbury Middle School.

Lake Middle School band teacher Douglas Bradley was awarded a State Arts Board grant to compose a piece of beginning level band music for Middleton Elementary School’s fifth grade band.

The District 833 Marching Band Showcase is a tradition started to serve as a thrilling end to a summer of preparation for the high school bands. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12.

There will be no school for District 833 students on Thursday, Oct. 17, and Friday, Oct. 18.

The MinnCAN “Road to Success” tour made a stop in District 833 this week as it recognizes Minnesota’s top schools and connects with community leaders throughout the state.
