East Ridge High School Seniors Matthew Ickstadt and Eaman Shire both earned a top composite score of 36 on a recent ACT test.

Students enrolled in South Washington County Schools continue to demonstrate a high level of proficiency, meeting or exceeding grade level expectations in reading, mathematics, and science, and performing above statewide proficiency rates.

CenturyLink’s Teachers & Technology Grant Awards recognize teachers who find innovative ways to integrate technology into their curriculum and teaching practices to improve student achievement.

The School Board met on Thursday, Aug. 22, with the following items on the agenda:

The August back-to-school issue of the district’s quarterly Window on Education newsletter was mailed this week to all households in District 833.

Based on the 2013 results released this week, District 833 remains above the state and national averages in all subjects and overall for ACT scores.

Thirty families and 41 team members participated on the 833 Miracle Makers team this summer and raised over $35,000 to support kids who are battling cancer and their families.

Nine science teachers had the opportunity this summer to participate in the Engineering to Transform the Education of Analysis, Measurement, and Science in a Team-Based Targeted Mathematics-Science Partnership.

The School Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, with the following items on the agenda:

District 833 Superintendent Keith Jacobus has been appointed to serve on the Association of Metropolitan School District’s (AMSD) Legislative Committee.
