On Feb. 19, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) released the 2013 graduation rates for the state of Minnesota.

Together, the students from both classrooms solved more than 35,000 of the 644,936 equations solved by the State of Minnesota.

The School Board approved the 2014-15 District 833 Calendar at their Feb. 20 meeting.

On Feb. 15, the University of St. Thomas hosted 24 Science Bowl teams from around Minnesota, including a team from Cottage Grove Middle School.

Due to current road conditions and the ongoing high winds, South Washington County Schools will be closed today, Feb. 21. All morning activities, including Kids Club, are closed today.

Due to the winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, all after school and evening activities in District 833 have been canceled for today, Thursday, Feb. 20.

Projections of residential development in Cottage Grove and Woodbury are expected to result in increases in district enrollment and require that the district examine whether its existing facilities are adequate to meet projected enrollment over the next ten years.

Three hundred and forty-eight high school students in South Washington County Schools earned 2013 AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP (Advanced Placement) exams.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth about $35 million that will be announced this spring.

District 833's fifth annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Career Day for all high school students in the district is scheduled for March 20 at the University of Minnesota.
