The South Washington County School District will be closing school on Tuesday, Jan. 28. This is due to the continued wind chill warning through the National Weather Service.

The South Washington County School District will be closing school on Monday, Jan. 27.

Diana Getzlaff, a Park High School graduate of 2005, has been hired as the school’s new volleyball coach. She takes over for R.T. Luczak, who resigned from that position this winter.

State Senator Susan Kent, who represents District 53 in Woodbury, was joined by Representative JoAnn Ward of District 53A and by the chairs of the Senate Education Committees Senator Chuck Wiger and Senator Patricia Torres Ray for a tour of East Ridge High School.

The School Board met on Thursday, Jan. 23, with the following items on the agenda:

It is unfortunate that as a district, we are losing valuable learning time with students through multiple closures.

The girls and boys basketball programs at Park High School will be competing to raise funds to donate to the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.

Regarding District 833 after school and evening activities for Jan. 23, the following are confirmed at this time:

Fifteen Woodbury High School students have earned Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards (MSAA), which recognize Minnesota’s most artistic and creative teenagers.

Given the challenges of winter weather in Minnesota, our school busses may experience delays.
