Park High School choir members participate in Dorian Vocal Music Festival

Dorian Vocal Music Festival

Congratulations to Park choir students Gianna Epich, Emily Krhin, Julia Quinn and Alex Young who performed at the 68th Annual Dorian Vocal Festival at Luther College, in Decorah, IA, the weekend of January 13-14. The students rehearsed and performed in a choir of over 1,000 high school singers, representing over 230 schools from around the Midwest.

“This was a wonderful opportunity for these four young musicians to sing with some of the best high school choir members from around the Midwest,” said Ben O’Connor, Director of Choirs at Park High School. “By attending and performing at the festival, they gained valuable musicianship and leadership skills that they can now bring back to enhance their high school choir experience. They represented the school and the district with class and integrity."

The Dorian Vocal Festival is one of the largest and most prestigious high school honor choirs in the nation. Gianna, Emily, Julia and Alex sang under the direction of Dr. Andrew Last, Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music; Dr. Jill Wilson, Asst. Prof. of Education and Coordinator for Music Education; and Mr. Mark Potvin, Instructor of Music.
