Lake Middle School Band Director adds Nuevas Fronteras song to list of compositions

Lake Middle School Band Director Doug Bradley continues to compose songs for schools throughout South Washington County.

His most recent composition was for Nuevas Fronteras as students gear up to attend school at a new building and for the first-ever Spanish Immersion class, graduating from Woodbury High School this year. The name of the new piece is called "Nuestra Pequena" which is Spanish for “Our Little Song.”

The NFSI Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) asked Bradley to write the new piece of music for NFSI, which was played by Crestview and NFSI band students (along with any former NFSI band alumni that were in attendance) during a live performance on Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. in the Crestview gym.

Other pieces Bradley has written include Legend of Grey Cloud for GCES, Liberty Celebration LRES, We are the Mustangs for MES, March of the Cardinals for Crestview, Apollo 11 and Rocket Launcher for AES, Cowbell Rock, African Dance Song and Band Blast Blues for CES and AES, Beginning Anew for OMS and Leopards on the Prowl and South Washington County March for LMS.

The music has either been commissioned by the PTA/PTSO of the school or funded by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
