District 833 to host Lunar New Year Celebration

South Washington County Schools students, staff and community members are invited to a Lunar New Year Celebration at Lake Middle School on Wednesday, Feb. 21 from 5:30 -8:30 p.m.

The free celebration event will honor Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures and will feature a speech by special guest Ramsey County Attorney John J. Choi. Choi was the first Korean-American Chief Prosecutor in the county. He will talk to attendees about embracing their culture and how he rose through the ranks to earn his title.

There will also be a speech from Daniel Le MC, a local Vietnamese American lawyer, and performances by Hong De Lion Dance Association and Woodbury Middle School Chinese classes. Food and family activities will also be provided at the event.
