District 833 high school students to perform with state and national honor choirs

Students from East Ridge, Park and Woodbury high schools have been selected for the prestigious American Choral Directors Association honor choirs. Two District 833 students earned spots in national honor choirs and 11 District 833 students earned spots in state honor choirs.

East Ridge senior Abby Feuer has been selected into the 2019 SSAA American Choral Directors Association National High School/Collegiate Honor Choir. In addition, Woodbury senior Tim Nelson has been selected for the 2019 TTBB American Choral Directors Association National High School/Collegiate Honor Choir. Both will join students from across the country at the National American Choral Directors Association Conference in Kansas City, MO in February. The SSAA choir will be led by Dr. Sandra Snow and the TTBB choir will be led by Jefferson Johnson. Both students will perform for the public as a part of the conference.

Eight students from East Ridge and three students from Park also earned acceptance into the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota 9th/10th Grade State Honor Choirs. They will join other students from across the state to perform in Minneapolis in February after a day of rehearsals. The selected students from East Ridge include:

  • Sydney Bramel  – Soprano 1, SATB State Honor Choir
  • Lucinda Brown – Alto 2, SATB State Honor Choir
  • Erik Haering – Bass, SATB State Honor Choir
  • Allison Benjamin – Soprano 2, SSAA State Honor Choir
  • Lauren Nelson – Alto 2, SSAA State Honor Choir
  • Carter Bannwarth – Tenor, TBB State Honor Choir
  • Adam Garrity – Baritone, TBB State Honor Choir
  • Erik Rassmussen – Bass, TBB State Honor Choir

The selected students from Park include:

  • Olivia Bedard – Alto 2, SSAA State Honor Choir
  • Evan Kraft  – Bass, TBB State Honor Choir
  • Kyley Tolbert – Soprano 2, SSAA State Honor Choir
