District 833 families invited to student empowerment workshop

District 833 invites all district parents to a unique workshop designed to help empower their children to become self-motivated, how to do the right thing, and make choices for the right reasons without fear of punishment or desire for reward.

The workshop is set for Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 pm at Cottage Grove Middle School. No pre-registration is needed. Doors will open at 6:15 pm and light refreshments will be served at that time.

National Educational Consultant and Character.org National Evaluator Tamra Nast will explore the difference between intrinsic versus extrinsic motivation, home culture, discipline that fosters kids’ self-motivation, building a climate of trust and respect, and the pros and cons of “rewards.” Participants will leave with practical steps and strategies to use at home.

For questions regarding the upcoming workshop, contact Barb Bergseth, bbergseth@synergyexchange.org or Josh Eidem, jeidem@sowashco.org

The workshop has been made possible thanks to a grant from the C. Charles Jackson Foundation.
