Cottage Grove Middle School drops off toys on KARE 11

On Saturday, Dec. 2, several Cottage Grove Middle School students and Special Education Teacher Pam Horihan brought the donations they’ve collected for Toys for Tots to KARE 11. That morning the group was also featured on the morning newscast. Click here to see a clip of that newscast.

The students are well on their way to reach their goal of collecting 450 items for Toys for Tots. In just two weeks, students have collected more than 300 toys.

"This effort shows how students embody our school motto of academics, community and engagement,” said Principal Elise Block. “We couldn’t be prouder of our students’ selflessness this holiday season.”

Students will continue to collect new and unwrapped toys at Cottage Grove Middle between 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. through December 15.

Toys for Tots is an organization run by Marines that provides gifts for children in need across the country. You can learn more about Toys for Tots Twin Cities here.
