Cottage Grove Fire Department donates coats for students

Superintendent Keith Jacobus accepts coat donation

The Cottage Grove Fire Department and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2570 Union donated more than 60 brand new coats for South Washington County Schools students in need.

Firefighter and paramedic Christy Kreminski organized this fundraiser through the department to buy the jackets through Operation Warm, a national non-profit.

“We are very grateful to Christy and the IAFF Local 2570 Union for their generosity. We know our students will be excited to wear their new coats to school this winter,” said Superintendent Keith Jacobus.

The coats will be distributed to students with the highest needs around the district through SoWashCo CARES (Community Action Reaching Every Student) before winter break.
